"DeMilo Young, Founder & President, along with her staff have been supporting students at Valencia Park Elementary School and the surrounding Southeastern San Diego community since the summer of 2021 through after school educational and enrichment programs for youth, ages 7-12.
During the 2021-2022 school year the BIPOC Support Foundation collaborated with the SAY San Diego Family Support Services program to bring the Explore Next Door after school program to Valencia Park Elementary School. This program positively impacted the lives of 40 students in 2nd-5th grade, bringing cultural awareness/learning, social and emotional learning, mentorship, and leadership opportunities to the youth.
The Explore Next Door program was immensely popular amongst our students and parents that we had an ongoing waitlist and repeated requests for additional students to be added to the program. In addition, the Valencia Park principal, school site staff, and custodial team were all extremely supportive of the programming brought on campus by the BIPOC Support Foundation that they welcomed them back for a three-week summer program.
The BIPOC Support Foundation offers quality, trauma informed, and whole family centered programming which is something SAY San Diego and Valencia Park Elementary School would like to continue to support having on campus."

Their work provides equity in business, educational resources for educators, students, and business owners, and strengths low income districts. In a short period of time, BSF has proven it is committed to serving BIPOC business owners and the community as a whole.
